Pledge Manager is Coming (and check out the alt cover art!)

Hi everyone – it’s time for an update!
The alternate cover for The Creator's Compendium is finished (and looks amazing!) – and with that, we're finally ready to release the pledge manager, which we’ll use to handle your pledges and fulfill your rewards.
Starting today, we'll send out the pledge manager to a group of test backers, and – assuming everything goes smoothly – we'll release the pledge manager for all backers early next week.
Let's dive into the details!
What is a pledge manager?
In case this is your first time backing a Kickstarter campaign, the pledge manager is where you complete your pledge by giving us your address information, paying for shipping & VAT, selecting additional add-ons, or upgrading your reward tier, so we have all that in order before we begin the fulfillment.
How does it work?
We've partnered with a company called Backerkit and will use their pledge manager software. The pledge manager is structured as a step-by-step survey that you’ll be invited to by Backerkit (using the email address you used on Kickstarter).
Here’s a simple breakdown of the process from A-Z:
1. You’ll receive an email from Backerkit with a link to your Backerkit profile.
2. Following the link, you’ll see the rewards you’ve pledged on Kickstarter – and get the chance to upgrade your pledge level and select add-ons, including other products from Eventyr Games.
3. Once you’ve selected all the rewards you want, you’ll be asked to enter your payment and shipping information, if relevant.
We won’t lock your address or charge your credit card until we’re ready to send out the digital files – and we'll let you know well in advance before we do so! Until then, you can change your rewards or shipping information at any time :)
What happens now?
Today we’ll open the pledge manager to a small sample of backers to make sure everything works as intended before opening the pledge manager for everyone.
We hope to have the pledge manager go live for everyone next week and expect the test to go smoothly, but if you're part of the test group, please reach out to us at [email protected] if you run into any hiccups or spot any mistakes!
Other than that, we can't wait to bring you The Creator's Compendium and Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities – and wish all of you a fantastic summer!

An Unexpected Surprise!

Hello, everyone – Chris here!
It's been a while, so we figured it was about time for an update.
We've been hard at work with the layout for The Creator's Compendium, and are establishing the layout on Section I.
As far as the exciting new content:
I've already finished writing the very detailed water world chapter as of three weeks ago, which delves deeply (pun intended) into ocean-covered planets and moons, discussing everything from water pressure, the dark conditions, bizarre potential life, to much more!
There's also some unexpected awesome news: I've decided to do something special, which some of you suggested.
Since your vote results on the survey were so close, I've written not just the top pick for the survey (Celestial Navigation), but also the second (Exotic Weather)! It's been an exciting month, and I'll be putting the finishing touches on Exotic Weather in the next few days!
It turns out that it's really interesting to write about tornadoes!

As far as art, we already have several more of Mareesha's gorgeous field journal sketches, thanks to your pledges!
Here's one of the new ones, (and one of our favorites):
We're psyched to see the rest of them!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
We've also gotten our first look at the cosmic dice, which are now ready to be produced (so if you haven't already gotten yours, remember to grab them once the Backerkit survey hits)!
We're on track to send out the Backerkit surveys within the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned!
Don't the dice look nifty?
We can't wait to use them to play in the worlds we make with The Creator's Compendium!

Survey Results, and Born from Ice: Stone Age Role-Playing (5E)

Hello, everyone!
The survey for the Cosmic Concept has closed, and here are the results:
It looks like we'll be going over celestial navigation! Super exciting!
What's going to be covered? Good question!
How do stars behave in the sky throughout the night? Throughout a year? How can you use them to orient yourself in the world? Determine where you are on it? How can you determine where you are in a star system? In a galaxy? Where should you search for planets in the sky?
All of these will be answered in the new chapter of The Creator's Compendium!

An AWESOME Instance of Authenticity and Science in Storytelling
My seal of approval comes with a great deal of scrutiny, so when I came across something that meshed so perfectly with the spirit of The Creator's Compendium, I thought it would be a disservice not to let you know about it:
Small Cog Creative's Born from Ice! It's a 5E setting guide, player's resource, and full-blown campaign set in prehistoric Earth!
Loren Small, the brilliant mind behind Born from Ice, was kind enough to show me just how much research and scientific accuracy went into the production of his incredible core book. It delves into the technology, culture, weather, ecology of a prehistoric Earth...and so much more! I can't wait to run his generations-spanning, level 1-20 campaign for my players.
He's even created player options, including 6 all-new classes specifically tooled for prehistoric Earth, compiled in a player's resource.
And the art is just gorgeous. Depicted in cave-painting style, the aesthetic of ancient Stone Age culture really serves to immerse you in the setting.
The Kickstarter ends Tuesday, April 2nd at 11:59 PM!
We're already in production mode for The Creator's Compendium and Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities.
I'm still in awe at your excitement and enthusiasm—and working hard to make sure this project is as awesome as it could possibly be!

We're starry-eyed! 1,168 backers and 2,498% funded!

We did it!
More accurately, YOU did it!
We knew after the first 13 minutes of the campaign (when we were completely funded), that this momentum was a testament to the demand for real-life science to help bring authenticity to storytelling.
You've given our team the means to expand my dream for this project, enabling the crafting of new content, the exploration of more science, and the telling of novel stories!
I'm humbled, grateful, and thrilled by the campaign's success. You've made a longtime dream of mine come true, and I'm so excited to bring you The Creator's Compendium!

What's Next?
Of course, the project doesn't end with funding – now we've got to finish these books and get them to you!
Delivery Schedule
For The Creator's Compendium, everything's written – except for a few stretch goal sections! – so now it's just the final polish and formatting that needs to get done. With the funding, we're also going to be commissioning a bunch more art for the book.
All told, we expect to have The Creator's Compendium finished and ready for you in digital formats by August 2024 – and maybe even sooner. As for physical fulfillment, it's always a bit more complicated, but we expect all backers to have their physical books by the end of the year.
There's a bit more work to be done for Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities, but it's Eventyr Games' bread and butter, so the timeline should be the same. PDFs delivered by August 2024 and the physical book in hand before the end of the year!
Of course, we'll keep you in the loop if anything changes in terms of production and delivery schedule!
Pledge Manager
At some point – probably within the next 2-3 months – you'll receive a link to Backerkit, which is our pledge manager.
For everyone who's new to this crowdfunding thing, a pledge manager is basically just a website where we can deliver digital products to you, get your physical addresses if you have physical orders, and pick up extra add-ons, pay for shipping and VAT (if applicable), and so on.
We'll have more information about the pledge manager once we're ready to launch it!
*~*~*~*~*~*
We'll have our last update for the Cosmic Concept poll soon, and have a final winner! We'll give those last-minute backers the chance to place their votes for their choices before we announce the result.
Thanks for everything!
We've got a great deal of work ahead of us, but I think you're going to love what we've got in store!
