Cards Charged on BackerKit...and Off to the Printers!

Hello, all and sundry!
BackerKit orders have been locked; if you need to make any changes to your order for any reason, please reach out to [email protected]. Cards will be charged today!
The print files have already been delivered to our production partners, and we're still hopeful for a January delivery for your physical copies!
In BackerKit, you'll find the final PDFs for both The Creator's Compendium and Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities. With your help, we caught a few clarity issues that have been fixed...and we've added a little flair here and again, including some new notes from Mareesha for MCC. You'll be pleased with the results.
You can pardon the delay in getting Mareesha's notes, we hope; we had to send a recovery team to a few planets and moons to find some lost journal entries. Between a rakaryx attack, a geomagnetic storm, and a wormhole or three, they came back largely in one piece. Good thing they had Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities to keep them safe! ;D
Thanks for everything. We'll keep you updated on any more news in the coming months!

They're here!
The wait is over!
The Creator's Compendium and Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities PDFs have been edited, polished, and released!
Both PDF 0.9s are ready to download on your BackerKit page – check your email for the direct link or hop on over to the survey on this link.

Why are we calling it "PDF 0.9", you wonder?
Well, first off we're still waiting for a very important art piece for The Creator's Compendium – the cantina scene featuring some of our awesome backers! Eugenio is hard at work finishing this awesome piece, which will officially complete The Creator's Compendium!
Secondly, we know that – despite our best efforts – we probably didn't catch every single typo or mistake.
For the rest of the month, we'll continue to pore over the PDFs, so that we can catch as many mistakes as possible before they go to the printer – and as you dive into the PDFs, you might discover some flaws too... So if you want to help, we'd be extremely grateful if you let us know about any typos, inconsistencies, clarity issues, or the like that you encounter.
You can fill out this form for any- and everything edit-worthy related to The Creator's Compendium: Creator's Compendium feedback
Or this form here for anything to do with Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities: Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities feedback
Before the book goes to the printer at the end of this month, we'll gather all your comments, do a final update to the PDFs, and then release the final versions. At that point, we'll also charge your cards, so we can distribute whatever PDF add-ons of Eventyr Games' you might have bought as well.

That's it – we hope you enjoy both books!
Thank you for the support and for being awesome!

Impact Imminent!

Hello, all and sundry!
The time is nigh for our PDF release of The Creator's Compendium and Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities!
If you're even half as excited as we are, you won't be disappointed. Eventyr Games has pulled out all the stops, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the result of these books.
We'll need to take a (very short) delay in the release of the PDFs for a few reasons:
- With the release of the new Player's Handbook for D&D 5E 2024, we wanted to make sure that your copy of Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities meshed well with both the 2014 and 2024 versions of 5E. We want you to be able to bring your shiny new books to sessions with the full confidence that they'll be just in time for the new content. The Eventyr crew has received advanced copies, and they're making sure that MCC will drop compatible the day you have access.
- We're in the polishing stage, and we want to give you a book (or books!) that you'll enjoy for years to come. This is that extra ingredient ("love") that'll make all the difference. That said, the first PDFs we release will be alpha versions – we're giving ourselves a buffer to catch mistakes, typos, and other issues that may slip through the cracks.
The end result? We'll be delayed by a few more days, but the PDFs for both Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities and The Creator's Compendium will be available later this week!
All the best and thanks for your patience,
Chris and the Eventyr Games Team

Hello, everyone!
Work continues on finishing the PDF version of the books; you'll be happy to know that the layout is largely complete (Section IV, the last, is underway) and the artwork is coming along nicely!
One of the last pieces we've commissioned is the cantina scene (from the very talented Eugenio Frosali), where Mareesha regales her adventures to a small crowd of patrons--who share the likenesses of The Creator's Compendium's highest pledge tier backers!
Our goal is a September 15th delivery of the PDF versions, with printed copies in your hands in December or January. While this is a few weeks later than we'd originally planned, we're hoping you won't mind if we prioritize a polished, thoroughly-edited version for posterity!
I'd like to take a second to recognize greatness.
J, Simon, and Asta of Eventyr have been indispensable to every step of the process in bringing The Creator's Compendium and Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities to life. Among many other contributions, J is making the layout of the book more beautiful and polished than I had ever thought possible, and Simon has developed incredible and inspired monsters, items, options, and hazards that are faithful to the ideas behind The Creator's Compendium! Asta has been an invaluable sounding board for both the logistics of the campaign as well as bridging my science-based concerns to practical applications in the book by using her STEM expertise.
This project would have been impossible without them. It seems a great time to thank them for their dedication and hard work!
Stay tuned. You won't be disappointed!

A Playlist for Spacing Out

Hi there, everyone!
While working on the PDF version of the book, I thought I'd pull the curtain back a bit and share a part of my creative process with you!
Just about every time I sit down to work on material for The Creator's Compendium or Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities, I'll log in to Spotify and start a particular playlist I've made, which was inspired by the project.
It's not anything revolutionary by any stretch, but I just thought some of you might enjoy listening while you're waiting for the books! I'm not an avid audiophile, so you'll find mostly broadly-accessible stuff here (or what you might call "basic").
I hope you get a kick out of it; here're some quick liner notes!
-
Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Tears for Fears)
There's something about the How to Destroy Your World chapter that speaks to the villain in me.
-
Space Oddity (David Bowie)
In the book, there's a reference to JAMES Bowie's infamous knife possibly being forged from meteoric iron, and I was just tickled by the reference. Plus, you know: space!
-
You Give Love a Bad Name (Bon Jovi) & Hit Me With Your Best Shot (Pat Benatar)
In Mareesha's Cosmic Curiosities, there are some really cool ammunition options. These two are a little too on-the-nose, I'll grant you.
-
Dancing in the Moonlight (King Harvest)
Classic. Groovy. It's just the way astronomy makes me feel!
-
Danger Zone (Kenny Loggins)
With so many cool Celestial Hazards coming your way, I couldn't resist this one.
-
Low Rider (War)
Okay, so hear me out. You fall (down) into a wormhole, and travel through it.
It's silly, I know--but it's one of my favorites on the playlist!
-
Bad Moon Rising (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
Another Cosmic Hazard / How to Destroy Your World muse!
-
I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) (The Proclaimers)
Between travelling using wormholes or relativity, I didn't care if this one was a stretch. You don't need it stuck in the tape deck of your '85 Fiero to recognize greatness.
-
Walking on Sunshine (Katrina & The Waves)
I mean, how else would you describe travelling through a wormhole--or near the speed of light?
-
Time in a Bottle (Jim Croce)
If only we did have control over time itself. Of course, with this book, you will! ; )
-
Ain't No Sunshine (Bill Withers)
I am absolutely floored with how perfect these lyrics are. From the perspective of a planet lamenting its recently-dead star, it says it all! This one gets a chef kiss.
-
Renegade (Styx)
For those of us hoping to break the mold and create bizarre worlds!
-
Thunderstruck (AC/DC)
This was particularly apropos while writing the Exotic Weather section!
I'd be thrilled to hear about any other songs you think might make great additions! Let me know in the comments!

P.S.: You can go to the actual playlist on Spotify if you click on the title or go to the "options" menu using the three little dots on the player!
